چکیده

Fig (Ficus carica L.) is a natural product that potentially can improve the immune system because it has flavonoids have potential as immunostimulants. The research aims to determine possibility of fig fruit ethanol extract an immunomodulator. Immunomodulatory activity determined by knowing macrophage phagocytosis and lymphocyte proliferation in vitro levels extract. began with extraction, then sample was tested TLC colorimetry methods. Furthermore, immunomodulatory test measured through proliferation. In test, cells were given samples various concentrations latex beads. number activated macrophages phagocyted calculated. For tests activity, sampled different induced hepatitis B vaccine. Then cell absorbance read Elisa reader at 550nm wavelength. study results found contained flavonoid compounds, total obtained 0.74±0.01 mgEQ/g samples. showed increased compared control. produced stimulation index<2 values, showing no effect on lymphocytes. This indicated could increase but did not affect vitro.

Evaluation of anti-inflammatory activity of Ficus carica Linn. leaves

The aim of the present study was to explore the probable anti-inflammatory effect of petroleum ether (PEE), chloroform (CE) and ethanol (EE) extracts obtained from the leaves of Ficus carica Linn. Anti-inflammatory activity was studied by carrageenan-induced rat paw edema and cotton pellet granuloma methods. The extracts were administered orally in doses of 300 and 600 mg/kg/day of body weight ...

Hepatoprotective Activity of the Ethanolic Extract of Ficus carica Linn. Leaves in Carbon Tetrachloride- Induced Hepatotoxicity in Rats

The ethanolic extract of Ficus carica leaves was screened for hepatoprotective and antioxidant activity in hepatotoxic Albino rats induced via carbon tetrachloride. The degree of protection was measured by estimating biochemical parameters such as serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (SGOT), serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase (SGPT), total protein (TP), total albumin (TA), alkaline phos...
